So. Let's get to it, shall we?
(Quick note: I will be writing about Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics, and her products, in a separate piece)
Skin Savior, OLO's signature product. This do-everything balm is a cleanser, eye makeup remover, moisturizer, hair conditioner, flyaway tamer...it can even be blended with loose mineral makeup to create a creamy foundation! Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it did the dishes and cleaned my windows. This hyper-concentrated, waterless little miracle includes nothing but active, skin-loving ingredients. All while smelling like a citrusy, uplifting jar full of happy.
I have been using it as the first step in my nightly cleansing ritual. I warm a small amount in my OLO's New Best Friend. Skin Savior gently removes all traces of eye makeup, leaving my eye area feeling hydrated. I have also been using it as a moisturizer, applying it right after my facial serum (tip: it's the perfect follow-up to Keys ProBiome, for those who dislike ProBiome's strong scent). Finally, I take any additional balm left over after moisturizing my face, and apply it to the back of my hands. I get the moisturizing, anti-aging benefits of the balm, and my hands smell amazing for quite a while afterwards.
My other favorite product from One Love Organics is the Brand New Day Microderma Scrub and Masque. All skin benefits from exfoliation, but for sensitive types, most scrubs - and even the Clarisonic - can be too harsh, irritating the skin, exacerbating redness, and even causing damage. Brand New Day, on the other hand, uses sweet pea flour - a very fine, yet potent grain - as the primary exfoliant. I barely notice the scrubbing part, but I definitely notice the results. It immediately became my new go-to product for sensitive skin.
Morning Glory Brightening Complexion Booster and the Love Spring Eternal Youth Preservation Serum - I was delighted to see that One Love has created two distinct blends, with two distinct functions. The Morning Glory is all about stimulating and toning, to give you that "ready to face the day" glow, along with a big dose of anti-oxidants, to help ward off environmental damage. Love Spring Eternal, on the other hand, serves the dual purpose of dissolving build-up (to prevent breakouts and dullness) while firming and plumping the skin. It's an anti-aging powerhouse that works in harmony with your skin's nightly repair and restoration efforts.
The Chia Whip is one of the more potent all natural cleansers I have used. One Love Organics swears by its ability to play nice with even the most reactive skin, but I suspect it may be too potent for some. I have had no issues with it, except for the one time I used it with my Clarisonic, when my skin reacted as though I'd done a strong lactic acid peel, feeling warm and looking flushed and slightly irritated for a couple of days afterward. Otherwise, I have been very pleased with how well it cleanses the skin without leaving it feeling stripped and tight. It definitely does the job, and I suspect most of you will love how clean your skin feels after just one wash.
Speaking of Chia, I would be remiss to skip over their Supercritical Chia Oil, since this one little ingredient has such amazing powers, and is the centerpiece of many OLO products. Similar to Argan and Barbary Fig seed oil, Chia Oil is an anti aging superhero, packed with skin-plumping omega fatty acids, anti oxidants and vitamins. Because it's so potent, I personally recommend adding a couple drops to the Skin Savior, your favorite day cream, sunscreen, or body lotion. It's one of those oils that everyone should use (and yes, I'm including men in here, too, because looking good is gender neutral).
I personally think the best introduction to One Love Organics is by way of their Essentials To Go Deluxe Travel Kit - in part, because it contains generous amounts of product for a travel kit, but also because their retro glam travel bag is the adorable icing on an already delicious cake!
