Lips Against Lead

As many of you know, I was in NYC earlier this week to attend the Green Arm Candy Party at Union Square. It was quite the experience, I have to tell you! I met tons of wonderful people, including Rachel Lincoln Sarnoff of Ecostiletto and two teenage girls I wish I could rent for the summer as role models for my two little ones. They were with Teens for Safe Cosmetics, promoting their Lips Against Lead Campaign. I don't know about you, but when I was in high school, I was much more concerned about whether the French foreign exchange student would like my new haircut than I was about the ingredients in the hair spray I used to freeze it in place. But these young ladies have such a passion for educating the world about the chemicals lurking in our beauty products, they confidently chatted away with journalists, shopaholics, and even prima donnas who I'm guessing came only for the free drinks.

If you have a moment, use it to explore this wonderful campaign. Young women around the country are working diligently to make long-lasting changes in the beauty industry, and I hope to give them all the support I can.

I love your blog & I agree, the Teens Turning Green members do a fantastic job educating consumers about the dangers of what's lurking in our makeup and beauty products.
